LakePoint, Ga. – Lipscomb women’s basketball senior Loren Cagle earned her third ASUN Player of the Week award of the season and of her career on Tuesday, as announced by the league offices.
Cagle became the first student-athlete in program history to earn three ASUN Player of the Week awards in a single season with her performance.
The Nashville native notched 26 points to lead all scorers in a near-upset of SEC foe Vanderbilt, marking her third consecutive game over 25 points. She also collected seven assists, three rebounds, one block, and one steal in the all-around outing.
The following night during a 66-50 win over Alabama A&M, Cagle scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds.
Cagle is currently the ASUN’s leading scorer at 17.1 points per game. She also ranks second in assists (4.3), minutes (36.1), and three-point percentage (.453), 10th in rebounds (5.3), eighth in field goal percentage (.438), seventh in steals (1.7).
Cagle and the Lady Bisons will be back on the court on Saturday as they take on Kennesaw State in Georgia.
