NASHVILLE – With a little over a month left until the season opener, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team officially began practice on Monday in Allen Arena.
Seventh-year head coach Greg Brown, his staff, and the Lady Bisons were excited to get back out on the court ahead of the upcoming season.
Last year, Lipscomb made its furthest strides in recent memory, reaching the ASUN semifinals and finishing in the top half of the conference standings.
Although they lost reigning ASUN Player of the Year Loren Cagle to graduation, the Lady Bisons bring back a talented squad with a mix of experience and youth.
ASUN All-Freshman team performer Emily Kmec returns for Lipscomb, as does junior Lauren Rau and sophomore Taylor Clark, all three of which were regular starters last season.
Lipscomb also introduces Kansas State transfer and Knoxville native Anna Hammaker into the fold after having to sit out the 2017-18 season due to transfer rules.
A host of talented freshmen will be suiting up for the first time in the Purple and Gold as well, including three from the mid-state area.
Lipscomb will take on Cincinnati Christian on Nov. 6 in Allen Arena for a preseason matchup before kicking off the regular season at home on Nov. 9 against Tennessee State.
The Lady Bisons will then travel to Clemson for its first road test of the year on Nov. 11.
There are TWO ways you can get season tickets for the Lady Bisons in 2018-19. You can purchase individual season tickets for $30 or you can bring home a FREE season ticket to the women’s games with a men’s season-ticket purchase.
