BRANSFORD - 3
NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team will be in action for the first time in the 2018-19 season Tuesday night as they are set to face Cincinnati Christian in an exhibition match.
The game will take place at 5 p.m. in Allen Arena as part of a doubleheader with the men’s basketball team’s regular season opener against Sewanee.
The exhibition will the first of two consecutive home games for the Lady Bisons to start the season as they kick off the regular season portion of the schedule on Friday at 6:30 p.m. against fellow Nashville school Tennessee State.
Lipscomb is fresh off of their most successful season in a decade, wherein the Purple and Gold made the semifinals of the ASUN Tournament.
Eight players are gone from last season’s team, including seven seniors and the program’s first ever ASUN Player of the Year in Loren Cagle, but head coach Greg Brown and his staff are excited about the mix of returnees, newcomers, and transfers.
In all, seven Lady Bisons will be making their debuts in the Purple and Gold this week, including six freshmen.
Cincinnati Christian have already played three games this season and sit at 1-2. They finished 5-23 last year.
