NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team will be starting off the 2018-19 season with a pair of games over the weekend as the Lady Bisons welcome Tennessee State and travel to Clemson.

Friday’s season opener with TSU will tip at 6:30 p.m. in Allen Arena, while Sunday’s trip to Clemson will start at 1 p.m.

Live stats and live streaming will be available for both games at the links provided.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS:

  • TSU and Lipscomb have met 15 times, with the Tigers holding a 12-2 series lead.
  • Last season, Lipscomb fell 71-64 across town at Gentry Arena.
  • TSU is one of five Tennessee schools and eight Ohio Valley schools the Lady Bisons face this season.
  • The Tigers were picked to finish eighth in the OVC Preseason Poll.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS (AGAIN):

  • This is Lipscomb’s first-ever matchup with Clemson.
  • The Tigers were voted 15th in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Preseason Poll.
  • Lipscomb last faced an ACC school in December 2014, losing to Georgia Tech on the road.
  • Clemson returns seven players from last season added six newcomers.

HERD NOTES:

  • Lipscomb defeated Cincinnati Christian 69-51 at home in a preseason exhibition. Redshirt junior Anna Hammaker led the team with 17 points in her Purple and Gold debut, while freshman Kailey Rosenbaum added 12 points and eight boards in her debut.
  • Seven new Lady Bisons will have their regular season debuts in the Purple and Gold over the weekend, including six freshmen.
  • The Lipscomb roster features no seniors after graduating seven from the previous year’s ASUN semifinalist roster.
  • Six players return from last season: All-Freshman team member Emily Kmec, juniors Lauren Rau, Lexi Manos, Kaylee Cotton, and Carleigh Short, and sophomore Taylor Clark.
  • Lipscomb will face two more “Power” conference opponents after Clemson: Cincinnati on Nov. 24 and Georgia on Dec. 19.
