Women's basketball set for midweek matchup with Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team is headed up to Kentucky to take on Murray State on Tuesday.  

The Lady Bisons are set to take on the Racers at 6 p.m. in the CFSB Center.

SCOUTING THE RACERS:

  • Murray State and Lipscomb have met nine times, with the Racers holding a 5-4 series lead.
  • Last season, the Lady Bisons defeated Murray State 65-64 at home.
  • The Racers are 2-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to Butler 86-65 last week.
  • Evelyn Adebayo paces the team with 17 points per game.

 

 

HERD NOTES:

  • Murray State is the third of eight Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) programs Lipscomb will face this season. They have already defeated Tennessee State and lost to Jacksonville State.
  • Last week, Lipscomb defeated Alabama A&M 62-58 on the road before falling to JSU 58-46 at home.
  • In the win over A&M, redshirt-sophomore made her season debut with a team-high 17 points on 5-13 shooting from three-point range.
  • Junior Lauren Rau set a career high high with 19 points in the loss to JSU. 
  • Lipscomb split their season-opening weekend, defeating Tennessee State 64-62 in the home opener and falling to Clemson 68-26 in the road opener.
  • Four Lady Bisons scored in double-figures in the win over TSU, including Jane Deason (a team-high 17), Kailey Rosenbaum (13), and Keely Morrow (13), who were all freshmen making their Lady Bisons debut. Lauren Rau scored the game-winning bucket in the final seconds. It was her first basket of the night.
  • In all, six Lady Bisons made their regular debut in the Purple and Gold in the win, including five freshmen.
  • The Lipscomb roster features no seniors after graduating seven from the previous year’s ASUN semifinalist roster.
