Women's basketball drops home tilt to Tennessee Tech

NASHVILLE – In their final outing before Christmas break, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team fell to Tennessee Tech 67-52 in Allen Arena on Friday night.

The Lady Bisons (2-10) started slow, mounted a pair of comebacks in the second and third quarters, but were never able to overtake the Golden Eagles (7-3).

Sophomore Taylor Clark led the way for the Lady Bisons in the first half. She finished with 11 points, but the team’s leading scorer fouled out with just under five minutes left to play in the game. She added three rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Freshman Jane Deason paced the Purple and Gold in the second half. She sharpshooter scored 12 for the game, snatched a team-best nine rebounds, and made two steals.

Junior Lauren Rau compiled an all-around solid stat line. The point guard collected seven points, five rebounds, a team-leading six assists, and a team-high three steals.

BISON TIDBITS:

  • Freshman Kailey Rosebaum added nine points and four rebounds. She also went 5-8 from the free throw line.
  • Clark swatted the only blocked shot for Lipscomb.
  • Jordan Brock led Tech with 14 points. Three Golden Eagles finished in double-figures.
  • TTU out-rebounded the Lady Bisons 41-39, and notched 14 assists to Lipscomb’s 10.
