ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb women’s basketball junior Carleigh Short has been named the ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Monday. The honor is Short’s first career ASUN weekly award.
Short earned the distinction after leading Lipscomb to their first conference victory of the season on Saturday, 61-58 over Jacksonville.
In the long-sought win, Short scored a career-high 22 points on an efficient 7-13 shooting, including 4-10 from three-point range.
She also had two rebounds, two assists, and tied for the team lead with two steals in playing all 40 minutes for a depleted Lady Bisons squad.
She also had 11 points and three assists in a 72-66 Lipscomb loss at North Florida on Tuesday.
This is Lipscomb’s first Player of the Week award since Loren Cagle’s win on Feb. 7, 2018.
Short and the rest of the Lady Bisons will be back in action tomorrow night as they travel to Liberty for a 6 p.m. tip.
