ATLANTA – Lipscomb’s Jane Deason has been named to the 2018-19 ASUN All-Freshman Team, as announced by the league offices on Thursday.
The Hendersonville native was unanimously voted on the squad by the league’s coaches.
“It has been rewarding to see Jane’s growth over the season,” Lipscomb women’s basketball head coach Greg Brown said. “She grew into a very balanced player throughout the year, and it’s great to see others in the conference acknowledge that.”
Deason finished the season second among all freshmen in the conference in scoring at 7.2 points per game and lead all freshmen in rebounding (4.6) and three-point percentage (.310).
She jumped right into a full-time role with the Lady Bisons, starting 25 of the 26 games in which she suited up and averaged 30.4 minutes per outing, the second-highest mark for a freshman in the league.
Deason poured in a career-high 20 points on 8-17 shooting, including 4-10 from behind the arc, at home against Stetson.
She also compiled the Lady Bisons only double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds vs UT Martin.
