Mick named CoSIDA District IV Academic All-America

Lipscomb University cross country and track standout Ruth Mick was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America District IV Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team.

Mick, from Zelienople, Pa., graduated in May with a 3.84 GPA in Environmental Science.

Mick leaves Lipscomb's Lady Bisons program with a number of awards this academic year which include:

• James R. Byers Award presented to top Lipscomb male and female athlete based on Christian leadership and academic and athletic excellence

• Won the 800-meter run at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships in a time of 2:15.20, both a school record and personal best • First runner in school history to qualify for the NCAA Regionals • Set new school steeplechase record with time of 11:05.80, finishing second overall at the Vanderbilt Invitational

• Member of Atlantic Sun All-Conference Team in Cross Country with sixth place finish in conference championships

• Set new school record for cross country with time of 18:04 in Atlantic Sun Conference championships, breaking her own old mark of 18:08.
