Lady Bisons finish second at Vanderbilt Classic

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons cross country team finished second Saturday in the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic at the Vaughn's Creek Course at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.

Susan Worden led the Lady Bisons with a fifth place finish, covering the wet 5-kilometer course in a time of 19:18.14.

Also in the top 10 for the Lady Bisons were Elizabeth Schall in eighth with a time of 19:44.17 and teammate Samantha Wood close behind in ninth with a time of 19:45.92.

Carolyn Latham finished 15th for official team scoring with a time of 20:24.35. Shannon Shoemake was 18th with a time of 21:00.07 with Erin Pyles in the 19th spot at 21:09.03.

Paige Griffin was 20th at 21:16.68.

The rest of the finishers for the Lady Bisons were Julie Alley in 29th with a time of 21:28.18, Paloma Floden in 32nd with a time of 21:36.20, Amanda Tanner in 35th (21:49.45), Rachel Snider in 38th (21:57.31 and Anna Day in 41st with a time of 22:32.97.

There were 72 runners completing the course.

Vanderbilt won the event. Union University was third followed by Tennessee Tech (fourth), Tennessee State (fifth), Bethel College (sixth) and Fisk University (seventh).
