Saturday, November 01, 2008Lipscomb coach Bill Taylor set the team goals high for the Atlantic Sun Conference Cross Country Championships and his Lady Bisons met the challenge.
Saturday morning in Macon, Ga., the Lady Bisons finished fourth in the championships, their highest finish ever. The Lady Bisons entered the championships ranked sixth in the conference.
Carolyn Latham led the Lady Bisons with a time of 18:22, earning A-Sun First Team All-Conference honors for the second year in a row.
Caitlin Anderson finished in 11th place with a time of 18:35.80 on the 5-K course. She was named A-Sun Second Team All-Conference.
Catherine Beals was 27th (19:12.16) followed by Jenny Randolph in 28th (19:12.75) and Shannon Shoemake in 29th (19:13.38).
Erin Pyles crossed the finish line in 32nd place with a time of 19:20.02.
Rounding out the finishers for the Lady Bisons were Paige Griffin in 38th place (19:34.43), Ashley Lehman in 39th (19:41.97) and Louisa Van Batavia in 40th (19:43.99).
There were 74 runners in the race.
Belmont won the event followed by Jacksonville and Kennesaw State.
