Ryan Chastain Saturday, October 03, 2009 The Bisons finished 24th in a field of 38 teams and the Lady Bisons were 21st in a field of 35 Saturday at the eighth annual Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic.
Junior Caitlin Anderson was the top finisher for the Lady Bisons, covering the 5-K course at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky., in a time of 18:50.60.
Rounding out the top five for the Lady Bisons were sophomore Catherine Beals (19:17.31), sophomore Louisa Van Batavia (19:19.41), junior Jenny Randolph (19:30.54), freshman Shelby Marvel (19:40.05).
Senior Ryan Chastain was the top finisher for the Bisons. He covered the 8-K course in a time of 25:01.07.
The top four finishers behind Chastain were freshman Ashton Fisher (25:54.12), freshman Tim Muller (26:32.15), Jeff Musick (26:39.90) and Trace Carlson (26:45.13).
Louisville, the race host, won the men’s event. Purdue was first in the women’s division. The University of Kentucky was second in both divisions.
