MACON, Ga. – For the third time in her career, junior Barbara Lee Ball has been named the Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week.
Her record-setting performance at the Commodore Invite over the weekend secured her second cross country weekly honor. She has also notched the award for track and field.
At Lipscomb’s home course Vaughn’s Gap on Saturday, Ball finished eighth with a mark of 17:15.5. The time broke bother her personal record and the school-record for the course, a course the Bisons compete on several times each season. It was also the fastest 5K time in the conference over the weekend.
The junior helped the Purple and Gold to place fourth at the meet, ahead of Ohio State, Ole Miss and Louisville and just below Vanderbilt and winner Mississippi State.
The Bisons will be back in action on Friday as they participate in the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown in Boston, Mass.
