NASHVILLE – Lipscomb freshman Brooke Kingma was named a USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honoree on Friday afternoon. Kingma was the only runner, male or female, from the Atlantic Sun to be named an honoree.
To qualify for the award, the student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and finish in the top-25 or top 10 percent at the NCAA Regionals.
Kingma was the top performing Lady Bison at this year’s NCAA South Regionals, finishing 25th overall out of 208 runners with a time of 21:01.9.
At the A-Sun Championships, Kingma became the third consecutive Lipscomb runner to be named Freshman of the Year. She earned a First-Team All-Conference spot with a time of 17:29.22 that helped her qualify for the NCAA Regionals.
