NASHVILLE – For the second consecutive season, junior Barbara Lee Ball has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for District 3.
Ball, a nursing major, has compiled 3.96 cumulative GPA over the past three years as a Bison.
During the 2015 cross country season, Ball was named the Atlantic Sun Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year after being voted onto the All-Academic team unanimously. She was named First Team All-Conference after posting a time of 17:35.43 to finish fourth.
At the NCAA South Regionals, Ball placed 32nd out of 208 runners with a mark of 21:01.9.
For the indoor track campaign, Ball was again named Academic All-Conference.
The Nashville native recently qualified for the NCCA East Region Outdoor Prelims after finishing second in the 10,000m at the ASUN Outdoor Championships with a time of 36:48.24.
She earned her third ASUN All-Academic nod of the year once she was voted onto the Outdoor All-Academic Team.
Ball was one of only two female student-athletes from the ASUN to earn a XC/TF CoSIDA honor, with Jacksonville’s Kree Clark being the other.
Ball and four other Bisons will be competing in the East Region Prelims which begin this afternoon and carry on through Saturday.
