NEW ORLEANS – Both the Lipscomb men’s and women’s cross country teams have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Scholar Teams of the Year list.
To qualify for the honor, teams must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. In total, 431 teams qualified for the award, with 242 women’s teams and 189 men’s teams making the list.
10 teams from the ASUN were named to the list, with six coming from the women’s side (Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, NJIT, USC Upstate, Stetson) and four (Jacksonville, USC Upstate, Stetson) from the men’s group.
Lipscomb, Jacksonville, USC Upstate, and Stetson were the only ASUN schools to have both squads qualify for the award.
The Lady Bisons had the highest GPA of any of the women’s teams in the conference at 3.72, while the men’s team tied for the highest GPA in the conference at 3.50.
