SAVANNAH, Ga. – Recently gradated cross country and track and field student-athlete Barbara Lee Ball was awarded one of two ASUN Postgraduate Scholarships, as announced at the 2017 ASUN Spring Meeting Awards Banquet on Thursday.
Ball, who just recently completed her four-year career at the ASUN Outdoor Championships in May, joined Stetson’s Joe Berry as the female and male recipients of the award.
Ball racked up a slate of accolades during her time as a Bison both on and off the track.
Between her stints with the cross country and track and field squads, she accumulated nine All-Academic nods, eight All-Conference spots, five ASUN Runner of the Week awards, two CoSIDA All-Academic honors, one Academic All-American spot, an appearance in the 2016 NCAA Outdoor National Championship Prelims, and the 2015 ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Cross Country.
The Nashville native plans on continuing her education at Vanderbilt in the Advanced Nursing program. As an undergrad at Lipscomb, she compiled a 3.84 GPA as a Nursing major.
