LakePoint, Ga. – For the third weekend in a row, Lipscomb sophomore Courtney Brenner has been named the ASUN Women Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
It is the first time a student-athlete from the ASUN has accomplished this feat since Kennesaw State’s Mackenzie Howe in 2009.
Brenner took home the award after finishing fourth overall with a time of 17:35.3 at the Commodore Invite. She was once again the top runner for Lipscomb.
The California native helped the Bisons place fifth in a field featuring a pair of nationally-ranked teams in Missouri and Eastern Michigan and a slew of regionally-ranked squads.
This is Brenner’s fourth ASUN weekly award overall as she earned one for outdoor track last spring.
Brenner and the rest of the Bisons will be back in action on Sept. 30 at the Louisville Classic.
