LakePoint, Ga. – For the third time in her career, Lipscomb senior Kacey Kemper has been named the ASUN Runner of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
The Washington native has previously won two ASUN weekly awards for track, but this is her first win for cross country.
Kemper earned the honor after finishing 89th out of 378 runners with a time of 17:47.0 to lead Lipscomb at the Louisville Classic.
Her time was the fastest of the weekend in the ASUN, and helped the Bisons to a 22nd place finish out of 33 teams in Louisville, including four nationally-ranked squads.
Lipscomb has now won four of the five ASUN women’s weekly cross country awards for the season.
The Bisons will be back on the course on Oct. 14 as the team splits for a pair of meets: the Princeton Invite and the UTC Frontrunner Invite.
