Cross country headed to New York for Fordham Invite

NEW YORK – The Lipscomb cross country squad is headed up to the Big Apple this weekend as the Bisons take on the Fordham Fiasco Invitational in New York City.

After kicking off the season last weekend at the Belmont Opener in Nashville, the Purple and Gold are trekking up north on Saturday for the first out-of-state meet of the year.

Only 11 Lipscomb runners participated in the season opener, so several of the Bisons are expected to make their season debut at Fordham including 2017 ASUN All-Conference honorees: Lauren Flynt, Kailey Schuyler, Silas Griffith, William Kachman, and Zach Israel.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 with the men’s race, followed by the women’s race shortly afterward.

The Bisons headed into the season as the preseason men’s and women’s favorites in the ASUN, and both squads are ranked in the USTFCCCA Preseason Region Poll. The first regular season region poll is set to debut on Monday.
