LakePoint, Ga. – Lipscomb women’s cross country junior Courtney Brenner was named the ASUN Runner of the Week for the fourth time in her career, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday. The win is her seventh total ASUN weekly honor of her career.
Brenner competed at the Fordham University Fiasco Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, winning the individual title with a time of 17:48.99.
Her time was the fastest in the history of the meet, beating the previous record by 15 seconds.
The California native’s performance helped the Lipscomb women’s squad to a dominant win as the Lady Bisons earned 25 points, topping the second-place team by 40 points .
Of Brenner’s six previous ASUN weekly awards, three came during last season’s cross country campaign and three others have come during her outdoor track career with the Purple and Gold.
Brenner and the rest of the Bisons will be back at it this weekend in Nashville with the Vanderbilt Invite.
