Jenny Randolph begins her third year on the cross country/track & field coaching staff at Lipscomb University.
While it’s only her third year coaching, she is no stranger to the school or the running program and continues to appreciate the success and progress that the program is enjoying.
Randolph, in her first year in a coaching role, helped lead the Lady Bisons to their first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference Cross Country Championship title in school history. The women are now three-time defending champions in A-Sun cross country, and the men joined the women on the podium for their first-ever conference title in the 2013 season.
Randolph moved to Nashville in 2007 to begin her undergraduate studies and collegiate running career at Lipscomb University. She was a captain of both the cross country and track & field teams for three years.
Athletically, Randolph enjoyed success under the coaching of head coach Bill Taylor, running on the varsity squad in cross country every season and takingoff her high school 5K personal record.
She and her 2008 distance medley relay teammates broke the school record at indoor conference. She also broke the school record in the indoor mile in 2009 and, in the same year, was a member of the school record breaking 4x1500 relay team in the outdoor season.
Her teammates’ votes awarded her honors at the end of each season throughout her four years on the team including the “Total Commitment,” “For the Team,” and “Fightin’ Bison” awards.
Randolph was one of four senior athletes at Lipscomb to earn the A-Sun’s President’s Scholar Award. She earned Academic All-Conference honors every semester.
Heavily involved in the team’s Discipleship and Outreach Commission, Randolph has participated in or helped lead every mission trip the team has gone on: Los Angeles in 2010, Belize in 2011, Haiti twice in 2012, and Jamaica in 2013.
Randolph holds USATF Level 1 coaching certification.
She graduated from Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn., in 2007.
She graduated magna cum laude from Lipscomb in 2011 with a B.S. in Biology. She completed her M. Ed in Instructional Practice in 2013 and currently is pursuing an M.S. in Psychology.
