The Lady Bisons golf team is 12th after the first round of the UAB Beach Blast Monday at The Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Brie Rowdon was the leader for the Lady Bisons with a 75 (39-36), tying her for 11th place.

Ashlee Catlin and Lindsey Beard are each tied for 50th with 83s. Catlin shot 46-37 and Beard shot 41-42.

Katie Pursell is tied for 54th with an 84 (43-41). Kacy Reese is tied for 69th with a 90 (46-44).

There are 14 teams in the tournament sponsored by the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
