Lipscomb golf coach Buddy Harston has announced the signing of Maggie Siddons from Acworth, Ga.

Siddons was an All-State First Team performer for Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga., in 2007. She was a Regional Team member in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

She was also named team MVP in 2007 and 2008.

Other honors include the Region 5 AAAAA Championship in 2007. She finished sixth in the 2007 Georgia State Tournament. She was 10th in both 2006 and 2008. She qualified for several national American Junior Golf Association events including the AJGA Knoxville Open in 2008.

The Harrison High team has won the Region 5 AAAAA Championship for three seasons. The team has also finished in the top five in the state tournament the last three years.

She won the Coach’s Award in 2006. She was named to the Marietta Daily All-County Team in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She was also named the Northwest Section Girl Golfer of the Year by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2008.

Siddons was the girl’s golf team Academic Award winner in 2008. She has been on the honor roll every semester in high school. She is also a member of the Spanish Club, Student Christian Ventures and the Young Republicans. She is also active in Student Government. She will graduate from high school with honors in 2009.

She is the daughter of Julie and Rick Siddons. Her step-grandmother is best-selling author Anne Rivers Siddons.

Siddons plans on majoring in Communications and Public Relations at Lipscomb.
