Women's golf finishes ninth at A-Sun Championships

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – On the third and final day of the Atlantic Sun Women’s Golf Championship the Lipscomb Lady Bisons took a step back.

After finishing the second round Tuesday in eighth place, LU slipped to ninth overall Wednesday with a 312 for a 54-hole total of 937, three strokes behind eighth place USC Upstate at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

East Tennessee won the title with a team score of 880.

Savanna Schubert led the Lady Bisons with a score of 229 (76, 76, 77) placing her in a tie for 16th.

MacKenzy Carter shot the low score of the third round for the Lady Bisons with a 73. She placed in a tie for 26th with a score of 232 after scoring 84 in round one and 75 in round two.

Miriam Parker placed 30th with a 233 (78, 76, 79).

Morgan Bucher tied for 44th after shooting 248 (80, 85, 83). Danielle Grace was 47th with a 254 (91, 80, 83).
