Scores on the first 18 holes of the Atlantic Sun Women's Golf Championship tournament Monday looked very similar to last weekend's Master's Tournament.

While par may have been 72, not one golfer met or beat that number of strokes. Actually, the average first round score was an 8-over 80.

As a team, the Lady Bisons are not too far above the average. They shot a 44-over 332 to finish in 8th place after the first 18.

Brie Rowdon is leading Lipscomb after shooting a 5-over 77. She is tied for twelfth but only four strokes off the leader.

Ashlee Catlin is three strokes behind Rowden with an 8-over 80. Catlin is tied for 22nd.

Marie Fillers shot a 14-over 86 for 34th place. Liz Austin and Brittney Beard round out the Lady Bisons shooting a 17-over 89 and a 19-over 91 good for 38th and 39th, respectfully.

Campbell University, who is ranked 47th in the nation, leads the tournament with 296 strokes for 8-over par. Monica Kelsey of Mercer and Alejandra Shaw of Campbell lead the field with 1-over 73.

Round two is Tuesday with tee times for Lipscomb golfers between 7 a.m. and 7:36 a.m. CDT. The tournament is at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C.
