The 2011 Barry Brewer Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, and played at the Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Tenn.

NCAA Honors Three LU Teams For Academic Success

The NCAA honored Lipscomb University's women's basketball, women's golf and women's tennis teams Tuesday with a Public Recognition Award for their high marks academically. These awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in each sport, based on their most recent Academic Progress Rates.

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons' golf team opened the fall portion of the season with an eighth place finish in the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational Monday and Tuesday. Katie Pursell tied for 14th with a score of 231 (81, 77, 73), the highest finish by a Lady Bisons' player.

Harston advances to Senior Nationals

Lipscomb golf coach Buddy Harston rallied in the final round to qualify for the Senior PGA Professional National Championship with a win at the Tennessee PGA Senior Section Championship at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay in Chattanooga.

Earlier this month Lipscomb golf coach Buddy Harston made a pilgrimage to Dr. Bob Rotella's house in Charlottesville, Va. Rotella is billed as the “world's foremost sports psychologist, golf guru , author and peak performance expert'. This time around he took four of his golfers with him.
