The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened the first round of the 2011 Atlantic Sun Championship with a 64-over par 334 at Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand, Fla., for tenth place.

Senior Katie Pursell led the Lady Bisons with a seven over par 79.  She had a birdie on the 17th hole.  Freshman Mackenzy Carter was two strokes behind with an 81.

Freshmen Sabrina Ferreri and Catherine Musser shot an 85 and 89, respectively.  Senior Lindsey Beard finished with 90 strokes.

Kennesaw State led the field with a 12-over par 294.

Round two tees off at 7 a.m. central time with the Lady Bisons and USC Upstate starting on the No. 1 tee.
