2nd-place finish for women's golf/Schubert at SIUE

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Savanna Schubert posted her best finish ever as a member of the Lipscomb Lady Bisons golf team with a second place finish in the SIUE Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at the Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, Ill.

Schubert, a junior from Oak Ridge, Tenn., was a model of consistency shooting a 78 each day.

The Lady Bisons finished second in the tournament with a two-round combined score of 662. Two other Lady Bisons, Mackenzy Carter and Sami Khan, finished tied for sixth place at 165. Carter shot rounds of 84 and 81. After a first round score of 88 Khan rebounded with a 77, the second lowest score of the second round and the second lowest score in either round of the tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Bisons were Miriam Parker in a tied for 40th place with a score of 177 (87, 90) and Sabrina Ferreri in a tied for 53rd with a 184 (95, 89). 

Southern Illinois placed first in the nine-team field with a two-round score of 641. 

The Lady Bisons will hit the greens again Oct. 15, 2012 in the F&M Bank Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate.
