Lady Bisons move up a slot at A-Sun Tourney

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons have moved from ninth to eighth after day two of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships after shooting a school-record 307.

"The team stayed and practiced on their own after Monday's round," LU coach Buddy Harston said. "It helped a lot."

MacKenzy Carter carded a 75 Tuesday at the Jekyll Island Golf Club to lead the Lady Bisons.

"It was great to see MacKenzy play well," Harson said. "She was even with two holes left to play."

LU shot 307 as a team, 11 shots under their first round effort Monday.

Carter was one of three Lady Bisons shooting in the 70s in round two. Miriam Parker fired a 76. Savanna Schubert shot her second straight round of 76 Tuesday to lead the Lady Bisons.

"Savanna and Miriam are swinging with confdience," Harston said. "The girls were really excited when they realized they had set school record at 307."

Danielle Grace finished with an 80. Morgan Bucher shot an 85.

After two rounds Schubert is tied for 19th with a 152. Parker is tied for 24th with a 154.

Carter is in a tie for 39th with a 159 followed by Bucher in 44th with a 165. Grace is tied for 47th with a 171.

The tournament ends Wednesday.
