HONOLULU – The Lipscomb women’s golf team returns to the links on Tuesday in Hawaii at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

The 16-team field will challenge the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kane’ohe, O’ahu.  The course is a par-72 that stretches over 6,099 yards.

The 54-hole event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. local time, which is 1 p.m. CT.

The first 36 holes will be played on Tuesday with the final 18 on Wednesday.

Highlighting the field is North Carolina State, who is ranked No. 22 in Golf Week’s Top 20 rankings. Other teams include: Mississippi State, Gonzaga, Columbia, Hawai’i-Hilo, Idaho, Kennesaw State, North Texas, Osaka Gakuin of Japan, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian, UTEP, Washington State and the host Hawai’i.

The Lady Bisons opened the spring with a weather-shortened 36-hole Murray State Invitational last week.

Miriam Parker led the Lady Bisons with a 154 (75-79) and finished 10th overall. MacKenzy Carter fired an 81-80 and finished 22nd.

Sami Khan scored a pair of 83s for a 28th place finish.

Sabrina Ferreri posted rounds of 89-82 and ended the day in 35th. Sarah McFarlin finished just behind Ferreri in 37th. McFarlin carded a 91-84 for 175.
