Khan leads the Lady Bisons at 6-over par

HONOLULU, Hi. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team finished the first day one at the Dr. Donnis Invitational on Monday and closed the day with a team total of 635 (316-319).

In a 15-team field, Lipscomb is 13th.

Junior stick swinger Sami Khan had a great day on the links and will enter the third and final round in 16th overall of 86 players.

Khan opened the day with a one-over-par 73. She then carded a 76 in the second round for a two-round total of 149.

MacKenzy Carter’s 79-78 was good enough to put her in a tie for 56th.

Miriam Parker shot 10-over-par 82 in round one, but came back to fire a 77 in round two. Her 159 total places Parker in 63rd.

Sabrina Ferreri and Sarah McFarlin round out the Lady Bisons. Ferreri is tied for 78th with after rounds of 82-87. McFarlin’s 90-96 puts her in 83rd.

The final round will begin at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday.

Mississippi State, who is ranked No. 35 according to GolfWeek, leads the 15-team field by nine strokes at 584 (+8).

Camino Sardinero of UTEP is the overall leader at minus-3. She is the only player under par with 71-70.
