Women's golf slips to sixth on day two at A-Sun

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- After starting the 2015 Atlantic Sun Championship on Sunday, the Lipscomb women’s golf team could not keep the momentum going on Monday sliding from fourth to sixth at the Reunion Resort.

The Lady Bisons entered the day just five strokes out of second place but a +32, 320 saw the Purple and Gold slide in the wrong direction at the Tom Watson Course.  Kennesaw State continues to pace the field after 36 holes building their lead from 16 strokes on Sunday to 22 on Monday behind a second-round 292.

Freshman Samantha Griffith carded the top round for the Lady Bisons on Tuesday with a 78 to give the newcomer a two-round total of 155.  Her +11 places her in 18th one stroke ahead of senior Samantha Khan, who shot 80 for a +12, 156.

Junior Miriam Parker sits in a tie for 28th at +16 after a second-round 82.  Senior Morgan Bucher follows right behind with a +17, 161 after an 80 on Monday.  That total places the veteran in a tie for 31st.  Freshman Jenny Muesing sits in 36th place with 18 holes to play at +19 (77-86).

KSU’s Dulcie Sverdloff continues to lead the field after carding an even-par, 72 to give her a two-under 142 for the event.

The championship concludes on Tuesday with the action getting under way at 7 a.m. in the “Sunshine State”.  Follow the action live at: http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=7367
