Women's golf posts best ever finish at A-Sun championship

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Posting the best finish in school history at the Atlantic Sun Conference championship, the Lipscomb women’s golf team wrapped up the 2015 slate on Tuesday in sixth-place at the Reunion Resort in Kissimmee. 

With a previous best team finish of eighth that happened on three occasions, the Lady Bisons used a final round 311 to edge out Northern Kentucky by two strokes and finish the event with a +75, 939.   Tournament favorite Kennesaw State cruised to the A-Sun championship with a +8, 872 topping second-place North Florida by 30 strokes.

Senior Samantha Khan paced the Purple and Golf on in the tournament with the best round for a Lipscomb golfer in the event with a three-over, 75 to finish the event in a tie for 18th with a +15, 231 (76-80-75).  Freshman Samantha Griffith finished just one stroke behind Khan with a +16, 232 (77-78-77) in a tie for 20th in the 54-hole tournament.

Junior Miriam Parker finished the tournament in a tie for 27th after carding a +7, 79 to finish with a 239 (78-82-79).  Freshman Jenny Muesing was four strokes back of Parker with a +23, 239 (78-82-79) that put her in a tie for 27th.  Senior Morgan Bucher rounded out the competitors for Lipscomb with a +12, 84 giving the veteran a +29, 245 (81-80-84) in the event.

Kennesaw State’s Dulcie Sverdloff took home medalist honors finishing the tourney with at one under with a 215 (70-72-73).
