CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team wrapped up the 2014 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on Tuesday with an eighth-place finish at the Clarksville Country Club.
Freshman Samantha Griffith led the Lady Bisons for the third-straight tournament shooting a +15, 158 (79-79) to finish 25th. Senior Morgan Bucher also finished in the top-30 with a +17, 160 (85-75) after firing one of the lowest rounds of the day on Tuesday.
Senior Samantha Khan posted a 35th-place finish after shooting a +19, 162 (85-77) ranking ahead of freshman Charley Benefield, who fired a 171 (85-86) to finish tied for 51st.
Fellow newcomer Ines Konschewitz rounded out the competitors for the Purple and Gold with a 176 (89-87) in her first collegiate event.
As a team, Lipscomb finished with a +75, 651 (334, 317) to finish four strokes ahead of league foe Northern Kentucky’s “A” team. Belmont won the 10-team, 36-hole event with a +20, 596 (301, 295).
Tennessee Tech’s Madalyn Evert took home medalist honors winning a three-hole playoff with Belmont’s Mallory Sullivan. The duo finished the tournament just one over par.
The Lady Bisons continue fall action Oct. 27-28 at the Braun Intercollegiate hosted by Evansville.
