Parker paces women's golf at Braun Intercollegiate

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate in sixth place on Monday after shooting a +36, 324 at the Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville.

The Lady Bisons were led by junior Miriam Parker, who fired a first-round +4, 76.  That score puts the veteran in a tie for fifth but just three strokes behind the leader after the first day.

Seniors Morgan Bucher and Samantha Khan each carded a +10, 82 to tie for 28th.  The veteran duo finished two strokes ahead of freshman Samantha Griffith, who shot a +12, 84.

Fellow freshman Jenny Muesing rounded out the competitors for Lipscomb with a +25, 97 that places her in 86th place.

Indiana State paced the field on Monday with a +22, 310.  Northern Kentucky’s Sarah Kellam finished day one atop the leaderboard with a +1, 73.

The event concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of the 36-hole event.
