Women's golf in 13th after first day in Hawaii

KANE‘OHE, Hawaii – The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened 2015 spring action in 13th place on Tuesday in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

The Lady Bisons shot a +24, 631 (319, 312) in the first 36 holes of action at the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course.  Oklahoma State paced the field with a -10, 566 (279, 287) to carry a 10-stroke lead into the final day of action.

Junior Miriam Parker led Lipscomb with a +7, 151 (77, 74) to end the day tied for 24th.  Freshman Samantha Griffith finished just three strokes behind with a +10, 154 (79, 75) in a tie for 34th.

Senior Morgan Bucher sits tied for 64th with a +18, 162 (79, 83) ahead of fellow senior Samantha Khan and freshman Jenny Muesing, who both finished the day +25 in a tie for 77th.

Oklahoma State’s Linnea Johansson sits atop the leaderboard at -7 after carding a 67 and a 70 to start the tournament.
