GLENCOE, Ala. – Sunday marked a solid start to the 2015 Chris Banister Classic in Glencoe, Alabama for sophomore women’s golfer Samantha Griffith as she carded a +4, 76 to sit just three strokes off the lead in a tie for ninth.
The sophomore sank three birdies on the day to lead the Lady Bisons at the Robert Trent Jones: Silver Lake Course. Senior Miriam Parker followed closely behind Griffith with a +6, 78. Sophomore Ines Konschewitz finished the day at +11 with an 83.
Sophomores Jenny Muesing and Charley Benefield each ended day one of the three-day event at +13 behind identical scores of 85.
Lipscomb sits in 10th after 18 holes after combining for a +34, 332 on Sunday. Host Jacksonville State sits atop the field with a +19, 307.
Round two gets underway on Monday morning at 8 a.m.
