Women's golf leads F&M Bank APSU tourney after day one

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Powered by a first round +1, 73 by sophomore Samantha Griffith, the Lipscomb women’s golf team leads the 17th-annual F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate after 18 holes.

Lipscomb sits atop the eight-team leaderboard with a +17, 305, eight strokes ahead of host Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech.  The 305 marks the school record for the lowest round in school history.

Griffith heads into the final day of action with a one-stroke lead on the field and two strokes ahead of senior teammate Miriam Parker, who fired a +3, 75 to sit in a tie for third.

Sophomore Ines Konschewitz also had a strong round with a +6, 78 to sit just outside the top-10 in a tie for 11th.  Fellow sophomore Ashton Martin finished right on Konschewitz’s heels with a +7, 79 putting her in a tie for 19th.

Sophomore Jenny Muesing rounded out the competitors for the Lady Bisons with a +10, 82.

Lipscomb will tee off on the final day of action at 8:30 a.m. in Clarksville.
