Parker leads women's golf at Braun Intercollegiate

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened the 2015 Braun Intercollegiate on Monday with a +37, 325 to put themselves in a tie for fourth alongside Northern Kentucky.

The Lady Bisons sit seven strokes back of host Evansville, who fired a +30, 318 to open the event at the Oak Meadow Country Club.

Senior Miriam Parker sits just one shot off the lead after carding a +1, 73.  Sophomore Jenny Muesing also sits in the top-10 after finishing the day tied for eighth behind a +8, 80.

Sophomore Samantha Griffith and freshman Ashton Martin finished six strokes back of Muesing at +14, 86.  Sophomore Charley Benefield rounded out the competitors for the Lady Bisons with a +16, 88.

Evansville’s Kayla Katterhenry leads the field with an even-par, 72.

The event concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of action in Evansville.
