Women's golf completes play at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team finished play in the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic with a 38th-place finish on Tuesday.

The Lady Bisons finished the 54-hole event with a +122, 986 (324-330-332).  Coastal Carolina took home top honors in the 41-team event with a +7, 871 (291-298-282).

Herd notes:

  • Samantha Griffith paced the Lady Bisons with a 79th-place finish behind a +15, 231 (76-77-78).
  • Miriam Parker followed Griffith in a tie for 162nd with a +28, 244 (77-80-87).
  • Charley Benefield finished in a tie for 198th with a +42, 258 (89-85-84).
  • Ashton Martin carded her best round of the tournament on Tuesday with an 83 to finish the event tied for 200th. Martin finished one shot behind Benefield with a 259 (88-88-83)
  • Lily McDonald rounded out the competitors for Lipscomb in 203rd with a +48, 264 (83-94-87).
  • Chattanooga’s Emily McLennan and Troy’s Fatima Cano tied for medalist honors at -6.
