Women's golf opens action in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened play in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on Sunday in 13th place at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club in Morganton, North Carolina.

The Lady Bisons opened the 36-hole event with a first-round, +47, 335.  Jacksonville State sits atop the team leaderboard after the first day of action behind a +15, 303.

Herd notes:

  • Samantha Griffith and Miriam Parker finished the day tied for 44th after carding rounds of +10, 82.
  • Jenny Muesing followed just one stroke behind Griffith and Parker with a +11, 83 to tie for 54th.
  • Lily McDonald carded a +15, 88 in 69th while Hillary Reader finished in 73rd with a +19, 91.
  • Stetson’s Giulia Vandenberg and Jacksonville State’s Natalia Azcue sit tied atop the leaderboard after each finished the day with an even par 72.
  • The action concludes on Monday with the final 18 holes getting underway at 8:30 a.m.
