Women's golf opens Kiawah Island Classic in 41st

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened the Kiawah Island Classic in 41st place on Sunday at the Osprey Point Golf Club.

Herd notes:

  • The Lady Bisons combined to shoot a +44, 332 in the first round of the 54-hole event.
  • Jenny Muesing led the way for Lipscomb with a +7, 79 in a tie for 110th.
  • Ines Konschewitz finished two strokes behind Muesing with a +9, 81 in a tie for 141st.
  • Lauryn Davidson and Samantha Griffith tied for 202nd with a +14, 86.
  • Charley Benefield rounded out the field for Lipscomb with a +15, 87 in a tie for 211th.
  • Jacksonville University sits atop the leaderboard after the first day of action with a -2, 286.
  • Jacksonville’s Louise Persson sits tied atop the field with St. Johns’ Saski Sterud after the duo finished with a pair of -4, 68’s.
  • Round two is slated to get underway on Monday at 9:48 for the Lady Bisons.
