Women's golf shows improvement on day two of Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team held serve on Monday in the 2017 Edwin/Watts Kiawah Island Classic at the Osprey Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.

Herd notes:

  • Lipscomb improved by 14 strokes on Monday with a 318 to end the second round with a +74, 650 (332-318).
  • Jenny Muesing led the team for the second straight day with a +5, 77. She sits tied for 98th heading into the final round of action on Tuesday with a +12, 156 (79-77).
  • Ines Konschewitz sits three strokes back of Muesing in a tie for 124th with a +15, 159 (83-76).
  • Lauryn Davidson is tied for 190th with a +22, 166 (86-80).
  • Charley Benefield and Samantha Griffith head into the final day tied at 210th with +26, 170’s.
  • Coastal Carolina sits atop the field with a +8, 584 holding a seven-stroke lead over ETSU.
  • College of Charleston’s Laura Fuenfstueck leads the field behind a -6, 138.
  • The final round of action will get underway at 7:45 a.m. from the Palmetto State.
