Women's golf heads south to open 2017-18 season

MOBILE, Ala. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team is set to get the Jesse Lawley era underway this weekend in the USA Intercollegiate at the Robert Trent Jones Trail – Magnolia Grove Crossings Course in Mobile, Alabama.

Hosted by the University of South Alabama, the 3-day, 54-hole event will get underway on Saturday at 8 a.m. as the Lady Bisons hit the course for the first time under their new skipper.

Herd notes:

  • Joining Lipscomb in the field is host South Alabama, UAB, Alabama State, Lamar, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Samford, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas-Arlington, Tulane, Troy, and Western Kentucky.
  • The RTJ Magnolia Grove – Crossings Course will play par 72 at 6,002.
  • Southern Mississippi returns to defend their 2016 championship in the event.
  • Samantha Griffith, Lauryn Davidson, Ines Konschewitz, Jenny Muesing and Charley Benefield will compete for Lipscomb as a team and Lily Caroline McDonald will compete as an individual.
