Griffith leads women's golf at Jacksonville Classic

PONTRE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team wrapped up action in the 2017 Jacksonville Classic on Tuesday with a 14th-place finish at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Pontre Vedra Beach, Florida.

The Lady Bisons finished the event with a +100, 964 (330-315-319).

Herd notes:

  • Lipscomb was led by Samantha Griffith with a +17, 233 (79-77-77) in a tie for 34th after climbing 10 places on the final day of action.
  • Charley Benefield also moved up the board five places to finish tied for 64th with a +7, 242 (84-79-79).
  • Emma Wasson finished two strokes behind Benefield in a tie for 69th behind a +28, 244 (84-79-81).
  • Wasson’s finish was one stroke ahead of Jenny Muesing, who finished the tournament tied for 71st with a +29, 245 (83-80-82).
  • Ines Konschewitz rounded out the competition for the Lady Bisons in 81st place with a +44, 260 (85-87-88).
  • Jacksonville’s Michelle Forsland and Amanda Detmer tied atop the leaderboard as the duo carded -1, 215’s.
  • The pair led the Dolphins to the team crown as Jacksonville finished with a +24, 288 (306-286-296)

 

Up next:  Lipscomb heads to Evansville, Indiana on Oct. 23-24 for the Braun Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Evansville.
