NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team returns to action for the first time this spring as it travels to the 2018 Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic Sunday in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
The three-day event will be held at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and played on the Osprey Point and Oak Point courses. Both tracks will play par 72 with the Osprey Point course playing 5,964 yards, while the Oak Point course will play 5,941 yards. Each team will play just 18 hole a day.
After 36 holes of play, the Top 22 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point during the final round, while teams 23-42 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
Joining the Lady Bisons in the 42-team field are Bethune Cookman, Boston University, Bucknell, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, East Tennessee State, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgia Southern, Georgetown, Hampton, High Point, Indiana State, IUPUI, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Longwood, Marshall, Navy, UNCG, UNCW, Murray State, North Florida, Omaha, Presbyterian, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Samford, Sandhills Community College, SCAD, Stephen F. Austin, Stetson, St. John’s, South Dakota, Tennessee Tech, Towson, USC Upstate, UT Arlington, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and William & Mary.
- Head coach Jesse Lawley will carry a roster of Lily Caroline McDonald, Emma Wasson, Jenny Muesing, Charley Benefield and Lauryn Davidson.
- Last year, Coastal Carolina won the team title for the second year in a row (+6), while host College of Charleston was runner-up (+7).
- The Lady Bisons combined to shoot a +106, 970 (332-318-320) in the 54-hole event last season.

The Lady Bisons head to Dade City, Florida on March 12-13 for the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky.
