GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Lipscomb women’s golf team opened the first day of the Bama Beach Bash at Gulf Shores Golf Club in ninth place on Friday.
The Lady Bisons posted a +54, 342 in the first round and was led by Charley Benefield. The senior carded a +11, 83 to put her in a tie for 36th. Junior Lauryn Davidson finished just one stroke back at +12, 84.
In a tie for 45th, Jenny Muesing fired off a +15, 87.
Lily McDonald and Emma Wasson each tied for 50th behind a pair of 88s.
South Alabama leads the pack by 11 strokes after firing the only under-par round of the day at -2, 286. Georgia State is in second at +9, 297.
