GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team closed out action at the Bama Beach Bash in 8th-place on Sunday at the Gulf Shores Golf Club.
The Lady Bisons combined to shoot +137, 1001 for the 54-hole event after firing a weekend-low 328 on the final day.
Junior Lauryn Davidson dropped back-to-back birdies on holes No. 2 and No. 3 en route to her weekend-low 79 (+7). She finished the tournament tied for 37th with a three-day total of 244 (+28).
South Alabama posted the event’s lowest round Sunday with a -4, 284 to finish as Bama Beach Bash champs, 35 strokes ahead of Georgia State in second. USA finished at -8, 856 (286-286-284).
South Alabama’s Siti Shaari held off No. 2 Paloma Vaccaro of West Florida for medalist honors. Shaari finished at -7 with a 209 (69-71-69). Vaccaro charged hard with seven birdies to fire a tournament-low 65 (-7).
- Emma Wasson finished tied for 42nd with a +34, 250. She fired rounds of 88-84-78.
- Jenny Muesing closed the Bash in 45th after posting a +37, 253 (87-79-87).
- Charley Benefield wrapped up action a stroke behind in 46th with a +38, 254 (83-87-84).
- Lily McDonald rounded out the field for Lipscomb with a +50, 266 (88-91-87) in 53rd.
The Lady Bisons get right back on the links next weekend in Carbondale, Illinois in the Saluki Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois. The two-day event is set for March 25-26.
