MONROE, La. – The Lipscomb women’s golf team competed in the Fred Marx Invitational on Monday, securing a sixth-place finish in Monroe, Louisiana.
After 36 holes on Monday, the tournament’s final round was cancelled on Tuesday due to weather with Lipscomb posting a final score of +37, 613 (306-307), tying them with Austin Peay.
Freshman Sarah Hinton had a top-notch outing for the Lady Bisons, finishing in a tie for third with a score of +3, 147 (74-73).
Fellow freshman Emily Keeling turned in her best performance for the Purple and Gold, finishing in a tie for 19th at +8, 152 (73-79).
Rounding out Lipscomb’s five include: sophomore KiLynn Gold in 23rd (+10, 154), senior Lauryn Davidson in a tie for 35th (+16, 160), and junior Sydney Willis in 49th (+38, 182).
Lipscomb will be back on the links on Oct. 29 and 30 at the Women’s Town and Country Invitational hosted by Tennessee State.

“The girls played well this week. We had one of the girls who has consistently been in the top five since last fall go down with an injury, so that was a tough blow. However, the girls really stepped up to carry their teammate.
It was also great to see Sarah Hinton finish tied for third in only her third collegiate tournament. We’re going to continue build on our progress for our next event which is at home in Nashville two weeks from now.”
